Stefan Jacob Valentine of Gonzales Louisiana died Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Baton Rouge Louisiana due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Stefan was born on Thursday, February 16, 1989, at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge to Bruce Valentine and Susie Braud. Stefan grew up in Baton Rouge. He attended Parkview Baptist through middle school. He and his sister Haley moved to Jacksonville, Florida, along with their mother and stepfather where they attended high school. He once said, “May not be in the cards for me to be a dad, so I’m going to be the best uncle!” and he truly was! Eventually the family moved back to Louisiana where Stefan would attend college at Louisiana Tech University and graduate with a degree of Baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering. During his time in Ruston, he married Kelcie Marie Stevens. Sadly, they divorced but remained close friends until his untimely passing. Stefan played drums from a very young age and was quite good. Started playing guitar several years later, which he seemed to enjoy even more. He was an avid reader. He became very involved in the Fellowship of recovery, that is AA and NA. and remained very passionate about the cause until his death. Throughout his short life, he was blessed to have many friends who loved him dearly. Some have said he was one of the most likable people they had ever known. He was funny, witty, kind, courteous, loving, compassionate, and incredibly smart. He is survived by his father Bruce Valentine and his stepmother, Delia of Baton Rouge and Cebu Philippines; mother, Silke “Susie” Braud and stepfather Skip Braud of Baton Rouge; sister, Haley Ann Weidert and brother-in-law, Josh; three beautiful nieces, Charlotte Annmarie Watson, Everly Rose Weidert, and Lylah Jayne Weidert.; step-brother, Jason Michael Braud (Paris) nephew and niece, Gavin and Grace Braud; step-brother, Nicholas Aaron Braud (Maricor) niece, and nephew, Makayla and Aaron Braud; grandparents, Heinz and Penny Litty of Baton Rouge, grandmother Gerti Ansmann of Prairieville; uncles Stacy Dean Valentine, and Randy Litty; grandparents, Larry and Sharon Braud; aunt, Cheryl Braud-Perkowski (Paul), Nicole, and PJ aunt Allyson Marxsen (Chad) and Jason. Many aunts uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Kenneth B Valentine (Helen), and his grandmother, Paula Ann Hemphill Valentine and his uncle Stephen Litty. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at The Church International, 13423 Highway 431, St. Amant 70774, at 11:00am with burial to follow at Serenity Oaks Cemetery, 15304 Highway 73, Prairieville with Pastor Terry officiating.
