
Thomas William “Tommy” Rousseau, 67, passed away in his home Monday, May 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Tommy was born October 24, 1955. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. His family will remember him as a man’s man. He was the type of person who would choose to repair something over building a new one. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word.
Tommy leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Debra K. Rousseau; his three children, Amy Duplessis, April (Jonathan) Gaspard, Joshua (Leah) Rousseau; six grandchildren, Amber Kern, Brittney (John Michael) Theriot, Colby Rousseau, Braeden Rousseau, Breana Gaspard, Beckham Rousseau; four great grandchildren, Noah, Blakely, Liam, Zayn; three godchildren, Connie Charlet Smith, Wendy Wendt Wempren, David Rousseau; siblings, Hillary Rousseau, Paul ( Diane) Rousseau, Patrick (Priscilla) Rousseau, Michael Rousseau, Corine Charlet, Barbra “Bobby” Rousseau, Judy (Charles) Wendt.
Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Rousseau, Sr. and mother, Mary Agnes Rousseau; brother, Lloyd “George” Rousseau, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Mervin Charlet, James “Jimmy” Kern; mother-in-law, Rita Kern. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at New Covenant Community Church in Pierre Part, LA from 9am until services at 11am. Colby Rousseau, Braeden Rousseau, Hunter Kern, Trey Kern, Seth Kern, Brent Breaux, Patrick “PJ” Rousseau, Jr., and Sam Rousseau will serve as pallbearers. Noah Kern will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank Thibodaux Regional Cancer Center, West Jefferson Medical Center, and Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion to Tommy and his family during their time of need.
