Bonnie Jane Smith Dexter, 94, a resident of Denham Springs and native of Eunice passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023. Visitation will be being at 9 am until time of the service at 11 AM on Saturday May 12, 2023, at Indian Mound Baptist Church 16755 Liberty Rd. Greenwell Springs, LA 70739. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM at Mount Calvary Cemetery 1400 E. Laurel Ave. Eunice, LA 70535. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Dexter, children Linda, Ken, and Keith, her parents Theodore and Eleanor Smith, and several siblings. She is survived by her son-in-law Willard Sonnier, grandchildren Angie and Jon Sasser, Mike and Monica Sonnier, Tammie and Kirk Lejeune, and Kevin Sonnier, great-grandchildren Jenny (Lee), Keith (Brittany), Hunter (Kayleigh), Zachary (Mandy), Jacob (Madison), Joey, Jordan (Brooke), Sarah (Daniel), and 16 great-great grandchildren.
She was by far my favorite aunt. She was 13 years old when I was born and she gave me my Cajun nickname Toute. Because my hair was Snow White just like a white dove (tout) in Cajun French. May God bless her soul!!!
