Barbara Lynette Balfantz Bovia, 86, a native of Maurepas, LA and resident of Azalea Estates, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 5, 2023.
Lynette was born on June 13, 1936 to William (Willie) and Edna Penalber Balfantz in Maurepas. After her school years, she married Eugene (Gene) Bovia, Sr. and became a devoted wife and mother to their four children.
Lynette loved serving her Lord and reading the Bible faithfully. She very much enjoyed cleaning and keeping a beautiful home. She liked to grow plants, especially flowers. She was an encourager and liked to help out at her church where she taught Sunday School. Her loving, kind words and sweet smile will be greatly missed by those who had the joy of knowing her.
Lynette is preceded in death by her late husband, Gene, her parents, her granddaughter, Emma Grace Bovia, and her siblings Doris Mitchell, Billy, Albert, Carroll and V.J. Balfantz.
Lynette is survived by her children Ronda Duplessis (Paul), Gene Bovia, Jr. (Janelle), Vicki Bovia (Kevin) and Kirt Bovia (April). Her grandchildren, Chela Evans (Lane), Nathan Guitrau (Amber), Eari Worsham (Bubba), Trey Bovia (Kristina), Megan Guitrau (Marian), Evan Duplessis (Annie), Lauren Bravata (Brandon), and Trevor Bovia. Her great-grandchildren, Blaze, Londyn and Roxanne Bovia, Olivia and Ella Worsham, Abe, Stevie and Jude Guitrau, Mathis and Macie Guitrau, Charley and Jax Bravata, and Lyric, Tenor and Stratton Duplessis. Her brothers Alton, Stanley and Johnnie Balfantz and sister, Kathy B. Reine.
Special thanks to her heart friend, Cathy Brock Revell, for her love and time spent with Lynette through the years, and Sharon Ennis, for her loving care as her sitter.
Pallbearers will be Trey Bovia, Evan Duplessis, Trevor Bovia, Blaze Bovia, Bubba Worsham and Lane Evans. Honorary Pallbearers, Nathan, Abe and Jude Guitrau.
Services will be held at Maurepas Baptist Church on Monday, April 10, 2023. Friends will be received for visitation from 10 โ 11 am. Service at 11 am will be officiated by Dr. Glynn Reine.
The family thanks Azalea Estates, Best of Care, Med-Pass, and Clarity Hospice staff for their love and support over the past few months. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services of St. Amant.
