
India Lavaida Williams McLin Graham, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her home. She retired from The Louisiana Health Dept., Milk and Dairy Division. India was born on November 14, 1935. She was a 1953 graduate of Istrouma High School and was an avid runner competing and winning numerous local road races, in the senior division and participated in the 1986 New York City marathon. India loved gardening and tending to her flower beds.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands; Darlene and Keri Breland and Teri and Ron Cowart, 2 grandchildren and their spouses; Kris and Nicole Cowart and Lisa and Wayne Cullen; 2 great grandchildren Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cowart and Liam Cullen and her sister and her husband; Eva and Dana Dillman. She was preceded in death by her parents; Emma Gertrude Williams & Omar Holt Williams; her husband Richard Graham , her daughter and her husband; Sharon and Michael Andre; her brother and his wife; Robert (Pinky) and Myrna Williams, her sister and her husband; Mary Anne and Lowell Singletary, and her first husband; Paul McLin, the father of her children. She had numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Stevendale Baptist Church, 16545 Old Hammond Hwy., Baton Rouge, La. 70816. Saturday March 11, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 12:00 p.m. conducted by her pastor, Stephen M. Young.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stevendale Baptist Church.
