Pamela Faith Cambre Meades peacefully completed her last adventure on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 as she made the final journey from her residence in Walker to her eternal mansion in heaven. She was 71 years old and had fought a difficult and courageous battle against Parkinson’s disease for the past 15 years.
She lived life to the fullest, as long as she was able, and was always cooking, gardening, shopping, or traveling; however, nothing made her happier than her family. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with the loves of her life, her four grandchildren: Joseph, Samuel, Ella, & Addie. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother and always placed her family above all else. She was born on November 9, 1950 in Baton Rouge as the second child of R.J. & Edna Cambre of Walker. She was a member of Walker Baptist Church and an accomplished pianist, who enjoyed playing hymns for the congregation during service. She was a 1968 graduate of Walker High School and worked for the Louisiana Public Service Commision for many years before Parkison’s led her to an early retirement in 2013. After she retired, she dedicated her time to her grandchildren and made them the center of her world.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter and “one and only,” Heather Donielle Meades Cifreo (Brian); grandchildren, Joseph Ramie Cifreo, Samuel Henry Cifreo, Ella Faith Cifreo, & Addison “Addie” Jessie Cifreo; mother, Edna Stafford Cambre; sister, Deon Cambre Felder (Randy); uncle, Huey Stafford (Ida); aunts, Yvonne S. Addison and Judy S. Stafford; former husband and dedicated, lifelong friend since high school, Jesse H. “Bo” Meades, Jr.; co-grandmother and caring supporter, Janice H. Meades, and two special traveling friends, Cheryl Capello and Maria Sullivan. She is preceded in death by her father, Ramie Joseph “R.J.” Cambre; brother, Mark Douglas Cambre, and numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Brian Cifreo, Joseph Cifreo, Samuel Cifreo, Ethan Beatty, Craig Cifreo, and Jerry Dedon. Visitation will take place at Walker Baptist Church from 9:00 am until services at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Internment will follow at Vickers Cemetery.
The family would sincerely like to thank her caregiver, Ms. Sheryl Arinder, who blessed all of us with her kindness and generosity, and her nurse and case manager Nicole Juneau who, along with the entire staff at New Century Hospice, gave her intricate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Parkinson’s Foundation. She is now “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”
My thoughts and prayers going out to family and friends. I met Pam through a mutual friend Cheryl and Marie who was a lifelong friends of Pam. In the times I spent with them, it was truly a pleasure to get to know her. She was very sweet and kind, even on her hard days. She was such a tiny little thing, always reminded me of a beautiful little baby doll, now she’s one of Gods Angels. Rest in peace little solider, your battles are over and now you can fly.
Love, Terry Senez
Sending our thought & prayers. Unfortunately, Mr Huey & Ms Ida can not make any services. They both have Alz. & daddy has some Parkinson’s also. Their conditions are progressing greatly but I know they would want to give y’all their love & prayers.
