Jacqueline Donna Aguilar was granted her angel wings and ascended into heaven on August 23rd, 2022.
She was an accomplished nurse with a passion for interior design, music, dance and was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved her children and grandson with everything she had and more. She was a beloved and special part of her family.
She possessed the magical ability to find humor in all situations. Her kind and generous heart allowed her to empathize with strangers and friends alike.
She is survived by her children Jacob B. Aguilar, Matthew Aguilar, Amie Aguilar, and daughter in law Miok Aguilar, grandson Logan Aguilar, and siblings Mark Duke and Mary Legendre, nephew Jude Legendre, and nieces Morgan Lee Smihula, Kelli Duke, and Jolie Legendre and lifelong best friend, Ajit Prabhakaran. She was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Dorothy Morgan Duke, her father, Jack Duke, and childhood sweetheart, the father of her children, José Manuel Aguilar. Jacqueline will be forever remembered in the hearts of everyone she touched. Be free and be happy Mom. We love you always and forever. Thank you for everything.

This earthly life “is short-lived and full of turmoil” Job 14:1. The confidence that heaven awaits us should fill us with a glorious hope. Paul said, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21; “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8. Jackie was a very kind, beautiful, talented & strong individual. She was a childhood friend & we reconnected on FB. She was so proud of her children & grandchildren; and spoke highly of her beloved brother & sister. She has shed this earthly tent that she doesn’t need anymore; she is now with her Lord and her Mother & Father. No more hardship, pain & tears; peace at last. My thoughts & prayers are with Jackie’s family.
I met Jacqueline Donna Aguilar when she came to visit her son, Jacob Aguilar, when he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Georgia, in Athens, GA. I was truly impressed by her kindness and her unconditional and unwavering support for Jacob. What a nice human being. We can simply aspire to be like her, for any such attempt will simply makes us better people. We were lucky to have her with us, and we will miss her.
Although we had known each other for a number of years I feel it wasn’t long enough. I will never forget how kind you always were to me and our coffee days at your house, how much you loved your children and grandson and your beautiful pups. I don’t recall you ever having anything negative to say and you always wore a smile, I hope you continue to wear that beautiful smile in heaven, I will miss you dearly and will forever be grateful to have called you friend.
I felt privileged getting to know Jackie through her beloved son, Jacob. She was the strongest and most valiant fighter I’ve ever seen. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched, including mine.
Jackie was such a strong woman. I’ve been with her through good times and bad but she never wavered in her goals. She became a stellar nurse and continued to be the proudest Mother on Earth. She adored her children and Logan and never failed to brag on at least one every time we spoke. There is now a Jackie sized hole in the Universe that can’t be filled. You made your mark my friend. I love you.

My deepest condolences to the Aguilar family during this time of grief. Although Miss Jackie will be deeply missed, I am glad that she is no longer in pain and that she is finally resting. A hard worker and devoted mother until the very end, Mrs. Aguilar can rest knowing she leaves behind three incredibly capable humans who will continue to live out her legacy in every single thing that they do. The efforts with which she raised her children is evident in the fruit of their success. Truly an outstanding family.
