Richard (Rick) Alan Hennekam, 63 a resident of Gonzales, LA passed away at home on May 26, 2022. He was originally from Terre Haute Indiana and lived in Plantation Florida with numerous other stops along the way. He is survived by his partner of 19 years, Eva Friedman; mother, Wilma Jean Hennekam; sister, Tracy Hennekam; sons Shaun Hennekam and Jakob Hennekam and his grandson, Leo Hennekam. He will be missed by his extended family members, friends and Athena and Apollo his most recent shelter dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to ThePitStopRescue.com or St. Jude Childrenโs Research Hospital, charities that were near and dear to his heart. Memorial service will be held June 2nd, 2022, at 10:30am at The Venue, 13475 Highway 431 Suite K, St. Amant, LA.
Richard was like a father to me, a brother and one of my dearest friends. I’m sure losing him put a pretty big hole in a lot of hearts. I know I’m not the only one feels like my very soul is shredding from this loss.My dear brother I want you to know that I will always be grateful to have had the privilege of knowing you and making myself be smart enough to take your advice.I am glad you are no longer in the excruciating pain you had. Even despite that you always found a way to make us all feel better about life if only for a single passing moment. You always went out of your way to help humans and furbabies even if it put you behind. You were and always will be one of God’s many Angels. Now you can finally rest dear friend. Peace is way over due for you brother. See you later ya knucklehead ๐๐๐๐๐บ๐ฅ
