Nicole Francis Gomez McCaffrey (Hano), 47, of Springfield, Louisiana died peacefully at her home on April 23, 2022, surrounded by friends and family.
Nicole was born to the late James Russell “Rusty” Gomez and Shirleen Pellegrin Conrad (Bruce) in Houma on October 15, 1974.
Nicole is survived by her fiancé Rocky Hano, one daughter, Tayler McCaffrey Fichtelman (Tristan), and one granddaughter, Luna Fichtelman, one sister, Pixie Gomez Meredith (Lonnie) and one brother, Jamie Russell Gomez (Tami), along with many nieces, nephews and loved friends.
Nicole was saved at Wingfield United Baptist Church on July 21, 2005, at an old time alter. She didn’t want to leave her family and loved ones, but the Lord called and Nicole went to meet Him. Nicole will truly be missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. She had a vivacious personality and an infectious laugh.
“Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.”
A private memorial service will be held at a later date
I am in total shock right now. Nicole and I met in Fredericksburg VA working at a childcare center together. She was the sweetest person I came in contact with. We were very close our children got to be friends as well. I will miss you my dear friend and your sweet sweet spirit. My heart is broke 💔. You will be missed by all who loved you. Rest easy my friend. I love you.
Nicole went to HS in Greenacres, FL and played softball with me. We both had in common, a sister that was more talented at softball…but we had fun goofing around and had no pressure to be the best. Nicole was always kind to everyone and given the chance, she would be your best friend. We also went to 8th grade prom together. I think we wore dresses made by her Mom that were handed down. I need to find that photo tonight. I remember her spending her summer babysitting and earning money.
Unfortunately, Nicole moved away after HS and we only remained in contact through FB. I’ll always remember her kindness to everyone she met.
Nicole was a good friend and she will be missed!!
So, so sorry for your loss. Many prayers and thoughts are with you at this time and days and weeks to follow🙏🙏
Thank you
