William Robert “Bobby” Dean, 66, a resident of Bayou Sorrel, died at home on October 31, 2020. He is survived by his sister, Lynne Lanoux and husband Don; niece, Kim Vincent; wife of his late nephew, Fran Tigner Fugler; great-nephews, Blaine Vincent and Matthew Ryan Fugler; and beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles. Preceded in death by his parents, Capt. William “Sambo” Dean and Augustine Clairain Dean; and nephew, Ryan Blake Fugler. Bobby lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his friends and neighbors in Bayou Sorrel. He could often be found on the front porch sharing vegetables from his garden, fish from his catch, or one of his lively and entertaining stories. To say he was an accomplished hunter and fisherman doesn’t do justice in describing Bobby’s skills in the swamp. He surprised his sister’s kids a time or two by pulling up in their driveway unannounced with a gator stretching the length of his boat. He did enjoy getting a reaction out of folks! Bobby is surely loved and missed. His celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In honor of Bobby, donations may be made to Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge.
