John Strader, known to everyone as Bubba, passed away at his residence in Ethel, La. on October 29, 2018. His faithful dog Red was at his side. He was 60 years old. Bubba was born in Baton Rouge on November 14,1957. When he was a young man he moved to Ethel, La. to live where he had spent many happy summers as a child. He was most at home in the country and at various times during his life he raised horses, cows, pigs and chickens. He would always plant a little garden even though he often fussed that the deer ate more of his crops then he did. He is survived by a daughter, Brittni Strader; granddaughter, Alauna Strader; sister, Mona Henagan and husband David; nephew Barry Henagan and wife Stephanie; niece Kelly Henagan Wilkewitz and husband Justin; great niece, Charlotte Henagan; and four great nephews, Reid and Beau Henagan, and Jude and Luke Wilkewitz. He is also survived by numerous cousins that he always kept in contact with. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Peggy Strader; and grandparents Rucus and Annie Strader, and Hosea and Amy Rogillio. Visitation will be at Redwood Baptist Church, 5182 Hwy 412E in Slaughter, La. on Saturday, November 3 from 9 am until services at 10 am, officiated by Rev. Ron Aguillard. Interment will immediately follow. He will be laid to rest in the Rogillio-Paxton Family Cemetery in Ethel. Pallbearers will be David Henagan, Barry Henagan, Justin Wilkewitz, Craig Paxton, Ray Smith, Richard Morgan, Terry Blackwell and Glen Ferguson.
