
Gwendolyn Rose Babin, a native and resident of Gonzales, died on May 8, 2023 at age 70. She is survived by her husband, Dwayne; son, Arik; and granddaughter, Sadie Babin and her mother Megan Dunaway; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia and Jerry Watts, Ethelie Braud, Sybil and Leon Gautreau, and Elaine and Keith Allen; and mother-in-law, Cornelia Babin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Anna Mae Daigle Babin; brother and sister-inΒ law, Gerald and Rosemary Babin; brother, Mervin Babin; brother-in-law, E. P. “Hotsie” Braud; and father-in-law, Whitney Babin Sr. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant and participated in various parish ministries over the years such as being a choir member, a lector, a school of religion teacher, a member of the Community Responsibility Committee, and a volunteer at the Full of Grace Cafe. Visitation will be on Friday, May 12th at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:00-9:30am for family and from 9:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am; graveside services to follow in the church cemetery. Church Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
