Carole Harris, a native of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, 8/30/21, at the age of 77, and is now rejoicing in Heaven. She readily shared with others her unwavering faith and hope she found through her personal relationship with Jesus. She had a loving and giving heart for her parents, her children, friends, and others she encountered that she wanted to lift up. She did this through providing meals to others, creating bouquets of beautiful fresh flowers, or sending special “pick-me-ups” to those she knew needed their day brightened. She always put others before herself and deeply loved her three children and dedicated her life to them. She loved gardening, watching the beautiful birds and hummingbirds that visited her feeders, and was an excellent cook. A graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy who also studied music at LSU, Carole was a gifted pianist who taught many students in the Baton Rouge area.
She is survived by her children Trey, Jill, and Pam, son-in-law, Bubbie, grandchildren Stephen and Lauren, and two great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her mother, Laura Claire, sister Claire, brother George, Jr., and sister-in-law, Maria, and many special cousins, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, George Harris, Sr.
Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Monday, 9/13/21, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Istrouma Baptist Church in Carole’s name.
I am just seeing this evening and sending my sincere condolences to the Harris family. I last saw Carole several years ago and remembering her bright smile and kind words.
While I am so saddened to hear of Carole’s passing, I know Carole is receiving so many blessings in heaven as she blessed so many others through her help and kindness in her life here.
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Carole was a very kind hearted and gentle lady who you could tell cared greatly for children, family and friends. She appreciated the simple pleasures of life and delighted in sharing them with the good company of others. While she will be missed on this earth, she is rejoicing in Heaven as she re-unites with other loved ones.
I only wanted to add my condolences to Carole’s family. The last time I saw Carole was at a high school reunion luncheon. I sat next to her and so enjoyed reminising and hearing the latest updates on friends and family. Carole’s mother and grandmother had taught me piano many, many years ago.
I’ll remember Carole best as a kind, caring friend. Please know you all are in my prayers.
Sending our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to all the Harris family, on the death of our remarkable cousin and dear friend, Carole. She was a consistent ally and supportive presence to us, over our lifetimes. We benefited from her love and care, as we mourn her passing. We rejoice that she is at rest now for eternity, in her heavenly home.

Ethel Chaffin Simonetti
Carole will be missed. We enjoyed our senior Istrouma Baptist bus trips together.
