Thomas Edward “Ed” Oliver passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Baton Rouge at the age of 84. He was retired from WJBO-WFMF Radio Station and the City of Baton Rouge and also served his country in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. He was a native of Livingston and resident of Walker. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Satsuma on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 12:00 PM conducted by Rev. Clint Mitchell. Burial will be in the Old Red Oak Cemetery in Livingston. He is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Myrtis Blount Oliver; his daughters, Katherine Bozeman and husband Danny, Sandra Oliver Hood, and Terri Boyd and husband Billy; son, Timothy Oliver and wife Gina; 10 grandchildren, Danny Bozeman, Jr., Sherri Jeansonne, Stacey Polito, Angela Lowe, Samantha Kelly, Timothy Oliver, II, Mason Hood, Skyler Vanbuskirk, Jace Hood, and William Boyd; also survived by his great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry Bryant and Annie Belle Brady Oliver; sisters, Gloria Huffman and Margie Howard; brother, Harry B. Oliver. Pallbearers will be Danny Bozeman, Sr., Mason Hood, Jace Hood, Skyler Vanbuskirk, Kyle Lowe and James Huffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Bozeman, Jr., William Boyd, and Timothy Oliver, II. He enjoyed playing his guitar and loved fishing. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Church Funeral Services in Walker is in charge of arrangements.
