Albert Robinson Ellis III “Robby” went home to Our Lord on August 25, 2023, at the age of 62. Robby lived a life defined by dedication, resilience, and love. His talents shone brightly on the baseball field, football field and basketball court, earning him admiration and respect from all who had the privilege of witnessing his performances. Yet, it was not just his athletic abilities that set him apart—it was his indomitable spirit and his capacity to overcome challenges that truly made him remarkable. He was a devoted follower of God, a cherished father, brother and trusted friend. A dedicated father, Robby treasured his role as a parent. His love for his children was immeasurable. His legacy as a loving father will forever be woven into the lives of his children, inspiring them to carry forward the values he held dear. In the face of adversity, Robby drew strength from his unbreakable bond with his children and family. Their unwavering support was a beacon of light during his toughest times, a testament to the power of love and unity. Their presence and encouragement fueled his determination and inspired him to persevere through challenges with unwavering resolve. While his accomplishments in sports were undeniable, Robby’s faith was at the core of his being. His relationship with God provided him with solace, guidance, and a source of profound gratitude. His faith illuminated his path, guiding him through both victories and trials, and his example served as an inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know him. Robby is survived by his two children, Grant Ellis and Madelynn Juge and her husband, Jacob Juge; his 4 siblings, Jan Ellis, Joni Luce and husband, Steve Luce, Andrew Ellis and wife, Yvette Ellis, and Michael Ellis. Robby was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mildred Ellis, and his loving best friend and lifetime lover, Kelley Ellis. In celebrating Robby’s life, a funeral mass will be held at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 Saint George Drive, Baton Rouge at 11:00 a.m. on September 7, 2023. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. May Robby find eternal rest and peace in the arms of the Lord, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live with purpose, love unconditionally, and find strength in our faith.

Uncle Robby
When I was in 5th grade, I remember Uncle Robby helping me with a science project. We went to his workshop under the Perkins overpass. He built a wooden ramp with a 45 degree downward angle.
Golf ball was placed at top of ramp➡️ball rolled down the ramp➡️hit my Cubs Scouts PINEWOOD DERBY car➡️car rolled across table➡️knocked a soda can off table into trash can.
Was a really fun project and I enjoyed that time with him.
He also played sports with us at our grandparents house and tried to teach us all the tricks of the trade. Unfortunately we could not replicate his ability to spin a basketball on his fingertips.
Until we meet again,
We’re all proud of you.
I know you’ll watch over us.
I love you Uncle Robby.
Your nephew,
Derek

Uncle Rahhhbbbb, we love you man! You left us far too soon but you’re in a much better place reunited with your Queen Kelley and your stellar parents in our Albert and Mildred. I know they were waiting for you at the pearly white Gates. Madelynn and Grant are going to march on just as you and Kelley would’ve hoped. Know that your family is praying extremely hard for you and we miss you dearly as there was still so much more to life for you but the Lord called his best athlete of our family home. Please watch over the Luces, Ellis’, Juges, and your dearest friends whom you held near and dear. Until we meet again. We’ll take it from here!
Your Nephew, Taylor

Prayers for all who loved your Dad
Love you
Man! I loved Robby😪I’m shaken😪 I reconnected with Robby at our 40th high school reunion. Felt like we never missed a beat from our high school friendship. When Madelynn faced her St. Jude treatment, I prayed for her , him and their family . Robby was dealt a difficult “hand”, but he prevailed. I loved his “F-it” attitude. He always left it up to God. Peace be with you, my brother. Hope to see you again. To his kids, whom I never met….in the immortal words of Bob Marley, “Peace, Love and Respect”, T Legg, the name he referred to me💔😪🙏💪
I am sad to hear the passing of my elementary and high school hero. He was who I wanted to be like athletically and competitive and so fun to be around. My memories of Robby will always make me smile until we meet again. Rest Easy Robby. You will be missed! Prayers to your wonderful family.
