
Gerald “BUDDY” Sheehan, 74, of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023. He passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Meri Ingram Sheehan, his daughter, Amber Sheehan Jobe (Steven), his son Garrett Patrick Sheehan, his daughter Lauren Sheehan Burridge (Ashley), and his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia A. Patterson and Mary J. Toups. Buddy was born on March 1, 1949, in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from Zachary high school in 1966. After high school he went on to the IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship program for four years to become a successful Journeyman Electrician for 50 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He met his future wife, Meri Sheehan, in Safford Arizona and started a life of over 46 years together, raising three children. In 2013 Buddy retired and spent time golfing and swimming in his backyard pool with his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting outside in the evenings under the gazebo listening to his favorite music and drinking a cold beer. Buddy was also an avid LSU sports fan who definitely bled purple and gold! Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald P. Sheehan Sr. and EllenMary Sheehan, sister Michelle Sheehan Cedotal; his daughter-in-law Cassie Laird Sheehan. Visitation will take place Friday, August 4th 10:00 a.m. with memorial service to follow at 11:30 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70817. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Buddy’s memory to a charity of personal choice.
