A ceremony celebrating the life of Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Ann Wright Taylor will be held at 11 am Friday at Satsuma Baptist Church, visitation will begin Thursday 6 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Friday at 9 am until time of the service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery Walker.
Pat was born on February 2, 1947, and departed from this life on January 29, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 75 years. She was a resident of Walker. She enjoyed reading, going to a casino with friends, elephants, traveling, Elvis and was a football fan of the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, and Kansas City Chiefs (because she loved Mahomes). Her greatest love and passion was her family.
Pat’s family moved to Texas when she was in middle school. It was at a roller rink she met the man who’d become her future husband, Roy “Spud” Taylor. They married on her birthday in 1968. Pat would tell everyone that way he didn’t have to remember two dates; Spud tells everyone it was because he gave her him for her birthday. During their marriage Pat was supportive as Spud started his own cabinet shop and grew it. She often worked for him even as she was keeping their home and children. Two years after they married, they had their first-born Shara. They gave Shara a little sister, Missy, four years later. Pat had a rough childhood, and she was determined her children would not experience the same. She did all should could to make her two daughters’ childhood happy and safe. She played games with them. She protected them from the harsh realities of life, so they could just be kids. As a stay at home mom, she volunteered at their schools, helped with their Blue Birds organization, played games and puzzles, read books to them, and gave them a lifelong love of learning and reading. She made sure the family took vacations from Disney to Colorado, also ensuring her two girls love to travel. She was a strong, giving, and loving woman, and was a great example for everyone who was blessed to meet her. She never met a stranger. She is greatly loved by so many.
She is preceded in death by her parents Inez Bonner and Walter Wright Sr., brother Jack Wright Jr., brother-in-law Roy Buckley.
Survivors include her loving husband Roy “Spud” Taylor, her smart oldest daughter Shara Taylor Arnold (Joel), her funny youngest daughter Missy Taylor, her siblings Bettie Flores, Fonda Sue Buckley, and Mark Wright (Rosie), also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
I was extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. I had gotten acquainted with Pat through my personal and professional relationship with her sister Bettie, nephew Thomas and daughter Missy. Pat was a funny, warm and inviting soul who made anyone feel special and welcome. What a gracious soul who will be profoundly missed. Rest in peace, wonderful friend. Peace to her kind husband and special daughters. I know Pat is smiling on you.
Love you all.
Charles and I are so saddened to hear of the passing of Pat. Please accept our deepest condolences. Sending our love and heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all family members.

Our thoughts and condolences are with your family.
I first met Miss Pat when I was 20 years old and just starting to work for Roy. Pat always treated me as more than an employee. I felt like a family member.
She kept me in line, gave me life advice and she never forgot my birthday.
I was always glad to see her and she made me feel like she was genuinely glad to see me. I considered her my work mom and my friend.
I have been blessed to have her in my life. I will never forget her and have many fond memories that I will keep in my heart forever.

Pat was a wonderful woman. Very loving person. I will always remember sitting at her kitchen counter drinking sweet tea and talking. I loved talking with her. And I spent alot of time there as a young newly wed. My kids know her as Aunt Pat. I know she fiercely loved and protected her family and you are one lucky person if she was your friend. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
I am the oldest nephew of Aunt Pat. She will be missed more than words can say. She has been the “ROCK” of our family for many years. Even with her own siblings.
Her home has always been open to all.
She let me stay with her, uncle Spud and the girls over a summer when I was a teen ager. It was one of my favorite summers ever.
For more than 30 years She held the best Thanksgiving for her whole family and friends. That is the best tradition that I have been apart of.
Through all of her ups, downs, floods and hurricanes she was able to keep a smile on her face and pushed forward and was still willing to give a hand to anyone.
I will miss my aunt Pat but I will never forget my aunt Pat.
I love you
