Sarah Bankston, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 69, on Sunday, November 13, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Lionel Bankston; son, Eric Bankston (April Williams), daughter, Marion Bankston; grandchildren Erika Conway and husband Bryan Conway, Caitlin Bankston (Brian), Heather, Casey, and Kaleigh Williams; great-grandson, Easton Thomas Conway; brother Billy Harris and sister, Yvonne Curtis and husband, Milton Curtis.
She is preceded in death by parents, Rev. Delmas K. Harris, Sr. and Tena Carpenter Harris, brothers Milton Lee Harris and Delmas K. Harris, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at New Zion Baptist Church in Kentwood, Louisiana on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Ray Smith as officiant with burial to follow in the New Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at New Zion Baptist Church in Kentwood, Louisiana on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until11 a.m.
My heart is saddened by Sarah’s passing. During Mother’s last years, Sarah would stop by…always with a cheerful greeting, and often, a bringing a small gift, as well.
May the comfort of God be with the family.
