“I have fought the fine fight. I have run the race to the finish. I have observed the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7
Miss Clara Jean Wilson was born on November 12, 1937, to the late Woodrow and Florence Wilson in Yuma, Arizona.
Jean began her study of the scriptures as a young person and upon embracing the truth found in the Holy Bible, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized this by water baptism in 1957 in New York, New York. She was an active member of the Melrose Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Oakland, CA. She loved every aspect of her ministry. She started her full-time regular Pioneer on May 1, 1973. Her forms of ministry that she loved were early morning street witnessing at the AC transit bus and the BART train station. She also loved letter writing, informal witnessing and Bible Studies.
Jean enjoyed fellowshipping with her spiritual family, whether through traveling to the International Convention or just conversing, they were very important to her.
She was employed with and retired from Oakland Unified School District after many years of service. She spent most of her adult life in Oakland, CA with her late sister, Dorothy Jackson. As her health began to decline, she relocated to Denham Springs, LA in 2021 to live with her niece, Pamelia Thrash. She then became a member of the Airport Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Baker, LA until her passing on July 7, 2022, at the age of 84. Jean was a faithful sister to Jehovah until the end of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Billy (Susie) Wilson of Los Angeles, CA; one aunt, Barbara “Sis” (Willie) Flemister of Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, late Robert “Bobby” (Gloria) Wilson of Las Vegas, NV and a host of nieces and nephews and worldwide Brotherhood.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Florence Wilson; two sisters, Betty Wilson and Dorothy Jackson; and one brother, Robert “Bobby” Wilson.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Baton Rouge and St. James Place of Baton Rouge, LA.

“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…”

Thank you, Patricia, It is so wonderful to know that she was your teacher up to dedication. We all going to miss her. It was about 65 -70 years since I have seen my Auntie Jean. She introduced me to Jehovah when I was 8 years old. 🥰 We will see her again. John 5:28🥰🥰
To those of us who had the privilege of knowing Jean Wilson we had the opportunity of experiencing her kindness, smile and love. I am grateful to our creator Jehovah who directed her to me. She was my teacher up to my dedication 10/1980. We not only became spiritual sisters but friends as well. I look forward to her resurrection. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to meet her niece Pamela Thrash in person, only verbal conversation. But, I can tell she have the same generous nature as her aunt by caring for her in her last moments. Much Love and Prayer to your family. Agape
Thank you, Shelia🙂

What a wonderful life of faithfulness and sacrifice to our God! Sister Thrash, our prayers are with you and your family and the multitude of friends that sister Clara Jean had. May the same hope and confidence that she had in the resurrection comfort you the family and her friends also.
What a wonderful life she had in her service to Jehovah. I look forward to meeting her in paradise. Much honor to her niece for her love and willingness to care for her aunt down to the end.
