In Loving Memory of Joseph Ernie Lee Cart, Jr “Joey”

Joseph Ernie Lee Cart, Jr “Joey,” 60 years old, passed away on September 1, 2021. He was born September 16, 1960, in Oakdale, LA to Ernie and Joyce Cart. Joey grew up in Zachary, LA and resided in Slaughter, LA. Joey was a “Jack of all Trades,” working as everything from a Volunteer Firefighter, a Trucker, a Millwright, a Bouncer, and so many other things in so many places. His favorite job was Daddy Daycare, bringing joy to his kids and many others. Joey loved hard work and never minded getting his hands dirty. Joey lived his life out loud, he never let a moment pass him by. He flowed with this adventure called life wherever it took him with shining blue eyes and a smile a mile wide. Always the first to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or give a hug, his heart knew no bounds. He loved to live and lived to love. Family was his greatest treasure; he loved his mama and daddy and was so proud to be a part of his huge family. He had a way of making you feel at home. A gentle soul to all beings and still, so strong a man. Joey leaves behind his loving and adoring wife, LaTrelle. His children, his pride and joy: Joseph “JR,” Georgia “Gigi,” Rylee Jane, and Jack Belizaire, all of whom he was so proud and loved fiercely. His first grandchild, “Tubby” Lee who was the apple of his eye and made him the proudest PawPaw. His Brothers who he loved dearly and their wives who became his sisters: Greg & Debra, David, Todd & Belinda, and Chris & Sarah. His nieces and nephews that he loved as his own: Brandon, Nick, Josh, Austin, Alan, Tiffany, Megan, Tyler, Brody, and Joel Michael. 14 great niece and nephews and numerous other family whom he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents and his nieces Mallorie and Michaela. A great man is someone who leaves others at a loss after he is gone….and babe, we are at a loss. Friends and Family are invited to celebrate the life of our beloved Joey Cart. We will gather on September 18, 2021, beginning at 11am and share memories and a meal at 2pm at Ory Farms 4749 Hwy 412 E, Slaughter, LA 70777.
