Kathryn Elizabeth “Katie” Mayeux, native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the age of 28. Katie was a loving and kind soul, who would do anything for anyone. She had a deeply compassionate heart for her friends, family, and strangers. She often performed good works for others without publicizing it. Her daughter, Ellie was her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time and making memories with her the most. She also enjoyed sitting in her car and listening to music, art projects, and shopping for vintage items. Katie is survived by her daughter, Ellie Mayeux; parents, Debbie Desadier and Tim Mayeux and wife, Dawn; siblings, TJ, Hannah, Colby, and Seth Mayeux; grandparents, Emma Jean Desadier and Barbara “Mimi” Mayeux; aunts and uncle, Kacky Desadier, Judy Banner, Mary Desadier, Gracie Hosea, Marshall Desadier, Renee Bordelon, Joey Milazzo, James E. Mayeux Jr. as well as numerous special cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Katie is preceded in death by her soulmate and father of her child, Lewis Sanchez as well as grandfathers, Preston Desadier and James E. “Big Jim” Mayeux. A brief visitation will be held on Friday August 27, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Baton Rouge from 11:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
