Michael “Buff” Joseph LeBert was born in Lakes Charles, Louisiana on December 10, 1957, and died in his home March 15, 2021 at age 63. He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy, his mother Patricia, his son Brent and his grand-daughter Amelia. He is survived by his wife Jamie, his sisters Debbie and Kris, his children Anthony, Amos, Sarah and Jessie, and his grandchildren Ashley, Michael, Gabriel, Emmalee, Paisley, Ava, Winifred, Brentlee, Liam, and his first great-grandchild James.
Michael worked long, hard days as a Rodbuster to provide a good life for his family, and he was loved and respected by everyone who worked with him. When he was forced to retire for his health, he embraced his new life of peace, sleeping in, and spending time with his loved ones. He spent his last days doing what made him happy: making improvements to his home, taking care of his dog Gypsy, and laughing with his family. He will forever be missed, whether you knew him as Michael, Buff, Rodbuster Mike, Dad, or Pawpaw. He is the Man, the Myth, the Legend. Rest in Peace, you deserve it.
“When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that’s the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin’ up to the spirit in the sky”

My name is Linda Madden, Mike’s sister-in-law of many years, I loved that man like no other, the relationship we had was of teas and torment but in a loving way, there isn’t anything I wouldn’t of done for him and I’m sure he felt the same about me, even though years would go by that we didn’t see each other but when we did it was great, I will miss him so much, rest your Cajun ass in Pease.
