Steven Ray Campbell passed away at age 67 in his home
on Sunday, May 31, 2020, surrounded by his family and
loved ones.
Steve was a character who will not be forgotten by those
who knew him. He shared his passion for music with
many people, and he was often too smart for his own
good. While always cracking a joke, he displayed his
generosity with animals as well as strangers. Throughout
his life he had many professions, but what he was most
proud of was his role with the emergency animal
transport business, particularly during Hurricane Gustav
and the Gulf oil spill of 2010.
Steve is survived by his two daughters Allison and
Melissa Campbell of Denham Springs, Louisiana; two
grandchildren Kaylin and James Campbell of Denham
Springs, Louisiana; sister Christy Campbell of Spring,
Texas; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and, of course, his
dog Bijou. He was preceded in death by his son Colin
Campbell of Denham Springs, Louisiana; parents Allie and
Christine Campbell of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother
Wayne Campbell of Orlando, Florida; brother Ronald
Campbell of Lafayette, Louisiana; and sister Terri
Campbell Bailey of LeagueCity, Texas.
A celebration of his life will be held on June 27 at 13813
Ruth Ln., Denham Springs, Louisiana.
