Benton Lee Higgins passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at the age of 76. He was born and raised in Liberty, MS, and was a resident of Slaughter, LA. Ben was a retiree of Dow Chemical with over 40 years service. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie James and Nora Mae Higgins, 3 brothers, a sister, and 2 step-sons. He is survived by his wife Shirley Higgins, son Darryl Higgins and wife Gina, daughter Angela McKee and husband Michael, a step-daughter, 2 step-sons and 12 grandchildren: Benton Higgins II, Rachel Higgins, Darryl Higgins, Jr., Lindsi McKee Stafford, Kaitlyn, Aaron and Brady McKee, Justin, Destiny, Dese’ree, Emily and Amber Davis, 8 great grandchildren and brothers Murray, Frank, and Jerry Higgins. Services will be held at Slaughter First Baptist Church, 3227 Church St, Slaughter, LA, this Saturday. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by service at 12:00 with internment at the Higgins family cemetery in Liberty, MS.
