
A ceremony celebrating the life of Virginia Louise “Weezie” McNeese Holmes will be 1 pm Friday at Hebron Baptist Church; visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. She was born on February 1, 1938, in Franklinton, LA, and departed from this life on Tuesday June 5, 2018, at her daughter’s residence in St. Amant. She was a resident of Denham Springs, a devoted member of Hebron Baptist Church, a homemaker and in-home child caregiver. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer “Buck” Holmes; son Wendell Holmes, granddaughter Danielle Singletary; parents Jewel and Ruby Thomas McNeese; and a special first cousin Sylvia Jo McNeese Byrd. Survivors include her children Virginia “Ginger” Singletary (Paul), and Jewel “Rusty” Holmes (Michelle); grandchildren Megan Geismer (Colby), Kimberly Drury (Austin), Hunter Holmes (fiancé McKenzi Grimes), and Lauren Brooke Singletary; great-grandchildren Gage and Logan Geismer. Memorials preferred to Gideons International or Faith for the Future- Hebron Baptist Church, in lieu of flowers. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the service and care of Home Health and Hospice of Amedisys.
