A ceremony celebrating the life of Deborah “Debbie” Janis will be at St John Catholic Church – Mass will be at 3 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 Visitation begins at 1 pm. Debbie was born in Baton Rouge on December 12, 1962 and departed from this life on Saturday June 9, 2018 at The Carpenter House at the age of 55 years. She was a retired legal secretary with the office of the Attorney General; a member of St. John Catholic Church and choir. She had a passion for singing and traveling; however, her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and family. She is preceded in death by her father Ferdinand Michael Janis. Survivors include her mother Kathleen Deane Janis; her children Jeremy Paul Smith, Kevin Marshall Smith and Stacey Lynn Smith; her siblings Mary Elizabeth Giordano, Stephen Michael, Richard Deane, Brian Marshall and Christopher Lee Janis; an aunt Barbara Quates; her grandchildren John Michael Boudreaux, Lexie Ann Giordano and Kylie Jolie Spence; also, by a host of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given of one’s preferred choice. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services and Crematory.
